Contest: New Year’s Eve

I took part in this contest with the theme of New Year’s Eve.

Contest: Cities of the World

This is the first time I take part in a contest and also my first time making a video!
The theme for this contest is “Cities of the World” and my choise was PARIS!
I didn't win the first prize but I won a "honorable mention prize", I still don't know what it is but I'm really happy.

In With the New, Out with the Old...

Day 79

Happy New Year's Eve!! For tonight, my nails required sparkle, and champagne, and that's what they got!! ;-P

I used OPI Dazzled by Gold for the Champagne, China Glaze Liquid Leather as a base for the other nails, China Glaze White on White for the white on the champagne glass, and Zoya Luna for the silver sparkle. Everything was topped off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat. :)

I hope that everyone has a very Happy and VERY safe New Year's Eve!! Remember your designated driver!

Edited to add:

Here is a pic of me enjoying a 'champagne' toast ;) Don't mind the hair- this was at the end of the night after walking across downtown in the snow!! lol

Buon anno! Il 2010 e' iniziato!

Buon 2010 a tutti!

Swatch: COLLISTAR No. 42

This is a brown color with some red glitter. It’s called “Melanzana Glitter”. In english “Glitter Egg-plant”. I don’t understand why it’s called like that, isn’t the egg-plant more violet? Well, it’s a really good polish, it last for a long time but it’s a bit expensive! (€ 11.90 if don’t remember wrong).

Swatch: Deborah Shine TECH No. 17

This is a light violet color. It’s also a little bit holographic but in the picture it isn’t visible. It takes a long time to dry also because I put a lot since it’s almost transparent.

Swatch: Deborah Shine TECH No. 28

I had this color for some time but I never really liked it and I don’t know why. The other day I wore it and loved it! In the bottle and in the picture it seems more purple than in reality. In natural light it’s more burgundy/red.

Swatch: KIKO No.267

This is a wonderful blue color. I really like this specially with some glitter on it.

Swatch: Deborah Shine TECH No. 21

This gold polish is really nice. It’s very sheer so you need at least two coats of polish to have a beautiful gold color. The only bad thing about this color is that it puts enphasis on the imperfections of the nail.

Swatch: KIKO No.116

One of the few red polish that I have. This isn’t a vivid red but a more burgundy red. I always wear this during Christmas time!

Swatch: KIKO No. 268

This is a very light green. This are two coats but the color is still very sheer.

Swatch: RIMMEL 60 Seconds No. 819 “Green With Envy”

I really like this color. It’s a metallic turquoise.

Swatch: basic No. 149

This color is very similar to RIMMEL’s “Green With Envy” but it’s darker and less “blue-ish”. I still like it very much.

Swatch: Bottega Verde No. 15

This is a very light yellow creme. I don’t like this color alone but it’s good as a base for decorations.

Swatch: KIKO No. 269

This is a vely sheer yellow base with a lot of yellow micro glitter. I don’t like it alone but it’s good with other polishes.

Swatch: RIMMEL 60 Seconds No. 430 “Coralicious”

This is one of my favourite polishes. It’s a wonderful coral creme.

About Me

Hello everyone!

My name is Lisa, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Italy.

My No.1 passion is Asia and I already have a blog where I share my passion for Asia with other people.

I decided to open this blog because I really like to wear nail polish and I see in a lot of Japanese magazines really wonderful nails (this is the link to a fantastic blog where you can find different kinds of Japanese magazines about nails but also celebrities, fashion, etc.)

The nails in those magazines are almost all fake and really complicated. So I tried to obtain the same effects on my natural nails at home, without spending a lot of money in nails bars.

I just want to share my experiments and knowledge with other people. Some of my nail creations are really easy and simple, others are a bit more complicated. I take my inspiration from magazines, music videos, album covers and everything around me.

This is my YouTube Channel where you can find my videos.

This is my e-mail: lisaworld88@hotmail.it
You contact me for questions, requests or anything else!

Hope this blog can be useful to you!

New Year's Nails: Party Hats

Hi everyone! I hope that today is going well for you whether you are hosting a party, attending one, or sitting at home enjoying the evening. I *attempted* to do party hat nail art, but I failed. Sorry. I think that if I had made the background darker, it would have made it easier to see. I think that it is a cute idea, but poorly executed on my part!

I used China Glaze Metallic Muse for the background, Art Deco Silver, Art Deco Blue Glitter, and Art Deco Silver glitter as the hat pom poms. What fun things are you doing for New Year's? I myself am sitting at home enjoying it with my family. I have to stay up until midnight! I find that if I don't watch the glass ball drop in Times Square on TV, then there really isn't a new year; my brain can't process the beginning of a new year without it. Weird huh?

Middle: Lime

Zoya Bekka as a base, with China Glaze White on White for the pith and lines, and OPI Green-wich Village for the peel and lines.

Ring: Strawberry

China Glaze Salsa as a base, with Zoya Pippa mixed with Zoya Ginger for the seeds, and Migi Nail Art Pens for the green.

Pinky: Orange

Sally Hanson Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in 06 Sun Kissed as a base, with China Glaze White on White for the pith and lines, and Pumped Up Pumpkin from the ULTA Exclusive OPI Glow Get a Treat Halloween mini set for the skin and lines.

2 coats of Seche Vite top coat to top everything off, and away I go. :)

Getting any resolutions ready?

Beautiful Blogger Tag!

Hi again everyone! Stephanie from Short 'n Chic and Anna from The Nail Nerd nominated me for this award/tag, thank you so much! The tag is to share 7 random things about yourself; here it goes!

1) I am a huge fan of British comedies. Like; I am an all out junkie, and so is my family!

2) I didn't learn how to swim until I was 14. I never lived near a pool until then.

3) I am terrible at riding bikes. I always manage to run into something or fall off a bridge.

4) People never know what to get me for presents. This Christmas I recieved things that range from an iHome to a pashmina shawl.

5) I don't watch a lot of tv or movies, just Brit coms.

6) I used to be very into ceramics. I did it for about a year and a half in high school, and there is a whole china cabinet in my house filled with my mediocre works.

7) My favorite sweet at the moment is my Peppermint Pig. Mmmmm.....

I will tag 7 people in accordance to sharing 7 things about myself.

5 Guys I Used to Like Tag

Hi everyone, sorry it took me so long to do this tag. It was actually very hard for me to come up with 5 guys, because I have never been one to watch tv or movies or anything. Most everyone has already done this tag, but if you haven't then you are getting tagged by me to do it, just be sure to leave a link to your post in the comments! I was tagged by the lovely RijaH from Polishign the Nails! Here it goes:

My first celebrity crush, Leonardo Dicaprio. This was just after Titanic mind you!

Next is Johnny Depp, one of my favorite actors in the 90's and now!

Next is Christian Bale; nuff said.

And of course, George Clooney. He is pretty hot for an older guy....

And lastly, Hugh Laurie. I have been a fan of his work LONG before House. I personally love his roles in Black Adder and Jeeves and Wooster, he was a comedic actor long before House ever came around. Oh, and he isn't bad to look at either...

Bridal acrylic nails

Lots of bridal nails to update. For now, 2 sets of them done in acrylic. I will post bridal gel nails in my next post ok? I like to blog a little bit of each every time, hoping that you girls would never get tired of my blog. :)

Ahhh, this set, cute white ribbons and hearts on a 2 tone glitter champagne base. Prettttayyyy!

Bling bling bling bling bling!

Light rose glitter extension with fluffy marshmallow flowers and not forgetting crystals and pearls!

Lovely light rose glitter tips! Can see? I would totally love to have either of this for my wedding! :D

Gel flowers inlay!

Remember the gel flowers inlay sample i did?

Did these 2 sets on my customers and they turn out really nice!

Colourful and warm! Love it!
Peach orange glitter with different shades of flowers. See the tiny dots? I know, the colour doesn't show up here, and in fact they are actually tiny round disco ball flakes of green, gold, red.

Oh and this, it looks more fall/winter with the silvery/greyish colour. Love the colour combi! :)

Mattified China Glaze: Metallics

Hey everyone! One of my new favorite things is mattifying metallics, so here are all of my mattified China Glazes for your viewing pleasure!

Devotion - Silver is so pretty matte, but I think that I love it more glossy!

Twenty-Four K - I like this one glossy as well, it just shines more.

Metallic Muse - I love this one matte, it looks so unique and special matte!

Harmony - I love this one matte too, it looks so sexy matte! Below is the glossy picture for comparison!

Precedentemente apparteneva alla collezione "The flirt"

  • 55,5 gr. burro tagliata a quadretti e a temperatura ambiente,
  • 83 gr. zucchero al velo,
  • 166,6 gr. farina 00,
  • 100 gr. farina Manitoba,
  • 1 uova,
