Happy New Year!

What a crazy year. Seriously, ups, downs, middles, late nights, early mornings, great people. I truly have loads to be thankful for as this year comes to a close. I have wonderful friends and loved ones, I'm employed, and I've become friends with all of YOU! You all have been such a huge part of making this year what it has been, and for that, I'm eternally grateful! You helped me reached my goal of 365 days, and helped me make the decision to keep going. You've understood and been patient when there are days (or multiple days) since I got the second job where I really just don't have the time to create a nail design and post it. You've emailed me ideas, you've offered both praise and criticism, and most of all, you've changed my life.

As we embark upon this new year ahead of us, I will do my best to continue to make this blog a place for inspiration and laughs, and make it a place you still like to visit.

My blog resolution is to make more time to respond to emails and posts (I DO read them all!!) and make sure I get swatching and reviews done in a timely manner.

And, now to the nails...

I used Orly Luxe as a base, with Color Club Sultry Diva over it. For the New Year Baby and Old Man Time, I used American Apparel Mannequin for the skin, American Apparel Hassid to outline, and MAC Vestral White for the white on the robes, sashes, and diaper. For Old Man Time's beard, I added a touch of American Apparel Hassid to the white to paint the beard, and for the scythe I used American Apparel Raccoon for the handle, and China Glaze Millennium for the blade. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite.

So... Happy New Year! May 2011 be the best so far, but not the best to come.

New Year!

It's another year coming up in a few hours and just before it hits New Years, I wanted to show you my mani. It's pretty simple though but I like it.

First, I finally got my lemming, Sephora by OPI Worth My Weight unfortunately it looks ODDLY VERY SIMILAR to Sephora by OPI It Looks Like Raindeer. Which I will do a comparison post soon. Anyways I used 2 layers of WMW and then I layered it with OPI Bring on the Bling to add more glitter to my mani.

For the Misfits

We are all given the same amount of

time in a day.Its up to us what we 
become as a result of how we use this time.

Your own happiness is also up to you. 

Of course there may be people

in your community or family members around

you that drag you down or  just don't 

understand you. Maybe you don't

even have many friends...It doesn't matter.

In the end...you are the only 

one that can control your life. If you really

want to go to a certain country or you

really want to have a certain career or dress 

a certain way...What is really stopping 

you except  money or worrying about 

what others think ? 

Money can come over time... and negative,

closed minded people don't matter. 

Concentrate on the fact that whatever it is 

that you yearn to do...as a result of

completing it you will be happy...no matter

what it takes. 

Don't suppress something you want to do...

it will just be on your mind all the time...

If you feel you cant 100 % complete your

goal...at least try somehow. 

For those obsessed with asia in some way 

or maybe with acting, gaming or 

anything considered of out of the ordinary...

The point is - you have passion.

Being obsessed with something means

you have passion and you aren't just a 

lifeless soul drifting through the day. 

There are many passion-less people out 

there  and most of the time they are the 

ones that try to drag people like you down. 

So, if there is anything you feel unresolved 

about, anything that you just wanna do

so bad...I hope that you complete it in 

2011...or at least make the first step to 

completing it. After-all, in the end, it's

all about taking those baby steps to a 

bigger goal.

Dont lose hope.

Do all you can do to make

your life the way you want it. 

We get so used to being a certain

way sometimes...and doing

'out of the ordinary' things 

require a strong burst of bravery. 

There is a way to do almost anything

in the world if you really want it badly

enough...and are willing to sacrifice

and work hard.  

Keep that passion and absolutely

always do what makes you happy

even if others come at you

with negativity ! On this road

to doing what you want...there

will be unhappy times.

But, remember that it will be worth 

it someday. 

I believe that we must create our

own destiny.

Uhm... e' in arrivo il 2011...a dirlo sembra un numerone ma in effetti e' solo un nuovo anno...

Piovono auguri per il 2011: che sia felice, che sia carico di soddisfazioni...

Ma guardiamo un attimo indietro...il 2010 come si e' comportato con noi?

Abbiamo raggiunto i traguardi che ci eravamo prospettati?
Almeno per me e' Ni...un po' sì un po' no...

E' stato un anno felice?
Uhm...tralasciamo ... lo e' stato per molti versi per altri e' stato pessimo...^_^

Sì ce ne sono state...

Le cose più importanti che ti eri prospettata di riuscire a fare l'anno scorso?
No devo dire che non sono riuscita a mantenere i miei propositi...

E allora ragazze il mio augurio più grande per questo 2011 e' che abbiate, oltre a gioia,serenità e bla bla bla .... ^_-
...la forza e la volonta di arrivare dove volete andare oltre a un pizzico di fortuna che non guasta mai...

Di prendere la vita per il collo e dirgli ora guido io...a dispetto di tutte le buche che mi farai incontrare sul percorso...

Hey everyone! Hope all is well :) So, the bf is officially gone as of yesterday but today we skype-d and I miss him so much! :( But hopefully time goes by quicker!

Here's one of my all time favorite polishes, no not Chanel Nouvelle Vague but China Glaze For Audrey! This was one of the first batch of nail polishes I got when I started and this is my favorite. No nail art with it yet, but I'll probably do something with it! This is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. =) I love love love this. 

Sorry for the half blurry picture :( my camera sucks, need to save money for a new one!

Anyways happy early new year & happy polishing! I'll post up my New Year Mani. tomorrow =)

N°6 Beauty Experience: finalmente uno stand ben fornito!

E chi lo sa mai le sorprese che si possono incontrare quando si va a fare la spesa?

Di solito da makeup addict non ho grandi aspettative per i cosmetici venduti nei supermercati, in primis per i prezzi (spesso di listino e senza sconti) e soprattutto perche' sono totalmente assenti i tester...


Ma guardate oggi cosa mi si e' parato davanti mentre ero tra i batuffoli di cotone e il dentifricio? ^_^



Uno stand iper completo della N°6 Beauty Experience:

Non male e'?
La mia dolce metà che credeva di essersela scampata perche' non ci sono profumerie in questo ipermercato ehheheeh ha intuito dalla mia espressione che anche stavolta non sarebbe scappato all'acquisto cosmetico... ehheeh tra parentesi ha una pazienza proverbiale ;-)

E allora dato che questo periodo ne ho combinate di tutti i colori e devo risparmiare qualche soldino per ricomprarmi i pennelli makeup mi sono limitata ad un unico colore di smalto (incredibile eh? )...

E' un bellissimo colore che darà il meglio di se solo se lo fotografo con lo studio con le luci diffuse ma ora non ce l'ho montato quindi ecco uno swatch al volissimo...

E' il Golden white n°21 e con due passate non e' del tutto coprente,ma la cosa stupenda e' l'effetto finemente perlato e privo di striature...insomma prometto di fargli più onore in seguito ma ve lo straconsiglio...

Avevano già parlato della N°6 Beauty Experience e quindi conoscevo i loro prodotti ma non avevo ancora avuto modo di provare questa linea di smalti...

Un'altra notizia che farà felici tutte le ragazze attente agli inci e che questi smalti sono BIG 3 FREE e il costo e' di solo 3,90 euro...non male vero?

Fetishes ?

So, this may be a random post...but recently more and more
Im realizing there is some rather .......... interesting material on 
youtube...to say the least.


Well, really Ive realized that there are so many fetishes in this
world that I just didnt even know about.
One is long toe nails, another is being scratched or watching
someone scratch skin or other surfaces & also
shoe play...which is where someone slowly removes or puts 
on their shoes and rubs their feet around a bit & they film it. 
There are tons of videos apparently on these things on youtube
as I keep getting messaged by people who enjoy those
sorts of things. 


Another thing is straight men wearing polish...usually
on their toe nails so noone can see. But its just purely for 
their own enjoyment.


I have gotten a few messages to my youtube
asking if I would 'scratch' them with my long nails. 
Lol.


There are some interesting people in this world...


To each their own I suppose...

Vi porto a Piazza Navona a Roma...

Vi va di fare un giro a Piazza Navona sotto le feste?
Bene vi porto con me... :-)

La magia di questo luogo, per me, non risiede solo negli addobbi a festa e nei mille colori...
Ma nei ricordi di quando da bambina ci andavo con mio nonno...

Mia nonna restava a casa e io e lui ce ne andavamo a piedi per le vie del centro fino ad arrivare alle bancarelle della piazza...

All'epoca c'erano tantissime cose che colpivano gli occhi di una bambina come i pupazzi animati dei presepi o i tanti dolcetti colorati...



Gli animaletti di vetro che mia nonna collezionava tutti...o i giochini con cui spendevi poco e ti divertivi tanto ;-)...


L'allestimento della piazza e' molto cambiato negli anni, la preferivo di più una volta era meno "standardizzata" e spesso trovavi anche bancarelle di novità assolute... ora e' praticamente impossibile...ogni volta ci sono sempre le stesse cose dell'anno prima...

Ma la sua magia resta lo stesso e non e' natale o epifania se non fai un giro a piazza Navona... :-)


I soliti "due ignoti" ;-) che attirano tutta l'attenzione e l'ammirazione dei bimbi, con i genitori che passano il tempo a dirgli "vedi c'e' Babbo natale con la Befana, fai il bravo senno' riceverai solo carbone il 6" nel vano tentativo di farli stare buoni in questo tripudio di persone!


Le bancarelle hanno di tutto appeso sopra!



Qui mi sa che non c'e' Primer Potion che tenga... mi dispiace signorina non possiamo esserle d'aiuto ;-P


Regalare una scopetta della Befana e' di buon auspicio perche' "spazza" via tutti i problemi che si hanno ;-)....

A parte il freddo e il traffico e' stato un pomeriggio bellissimo, pieno di magia e lucette colorate :-)

Christmas Nail Stamping: Cheers and new year manicure!

E siamo giunte alla manicure per il

Capodanno

via allora a fuochi d'artificio e brindisi di mezzanotte!

Il colore di base è uno smalto nero con microglitter oro della Pupa, un colore che si presta bene ad essere stampato con l'oro!








Cosa ci occorre:

• Base: Essence Nail Art Protecting Base Coat
• Smalti: Pupa Lasting Color 237257, OPI Glitzerland, China Glaze Millennium e 2030
• Top Coat: Seche Vite
• Dischi per stamping: Konad m38, Bundle Monster BM02 e T37
• timbrino e raschietto
• dotting tool
• paillettes bronzo

Procedimento:

Passo 1: dopo aver steso due passate di base protettiva (lo smalto è molto scuro e non voglio ritrovarmi le unghie macchiate), passo due volte il nero con glitter oro












Passo 2: dal disco Bundle Monster scelgo l'immagine del fuoco d'artificio
















Passo 3: con gli smalti dorato e argentato stampo l'immagine su tutte le unghie tralasciando l'anulare

















Passo 4: dal disco Konad m38 scelgo l'immagine del flùte





















Passo 5: con lo smalto dorato stampo due volte l'immagine sull'anulare facendo in modo che i bicchieri si tocchino













Passo 6: dal disco T37 scelgo alcune stelline e le stampo negli spazi vuoti lasciati dai fuochi d'artificio
















Passo 7: con l'aiuto del dotting tool riempio i bicchieri di Glitzerland e faccio dei pois sparsi, applico a caso alcune paillettes

















Passo 8: passo il top coat per proteggere le decorazioni... cin cin e buon 2011!!
